Numerous Attend Pro-Palestine Protests as Organisers Promise to Continue Demonstrating

A multitude gathered across Australia at pro-Palestinian protests, with coordinators pledging to keep demonstrating after a ceasefire deal negotiated by the former US president in Gaza initially appeared to be holding.

Sydney Demonstration Gathers Substantial Attendance

In Sydney, the Palestine Action Group announced a crowd of 30,000 had marched from Hyde Park to a nearby green space in the city center after a planned rally to the famous building was prohibited by the New South Wales court of appeal in recent days.

Law enforcement assessed a crowd of 8,000 joined the city demonstration, with a representative stating there had been "peaceful proceedings".

Australian Rallies Remember Occasion

Protests were also organized in southern city, eastern city and west coast metropolis on Sunday to remember two years of killing in Gaza after armed incidents on the date in 2023 resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths in Israel.

"Concerning the protest efforts, we'll absolutely continue to advocate for liberation... for local governance, for aid to be allowed in and for residents to restore their communities," commented one organiser.

Varied Responses to Peace Deal

The elected official the politician told the crowd: "We must not allow a reality where the former president decides the outcome for Palestinian communities to be the type of reality we accept."

Another organiser who filed the initial request to protest at the iconic venue claimed that the participants could have peacefully gone to the iconic waterfront location. The senior police representative had earlier informed the legal authority that the arrangement appeared dangerous.

The organiser commented during the protest: "Whenever the law enforcement seeks to prevent our demonstrations or court proceedings, it increases community attention... to the importance of gathering and oppose such actions."
