British Airways to provide no-cost quick onboard connectivity via satellite agreement

Flyers flying with this carrier will soon access quick internet during flights without charge following a new partnership with Elon Musk's space firm.

No-cost plus Quick Connectivity Available to Everyone

The airline announced that this complimentary, “quick and reliable” connectivity provision through Starlink becomes offered for passengers flying economy, premium economy, and first class as of the coming month.

Broad Rollout Over Various Carriers

The holding company for BA, International Airlines Group, announced it had finalized an deal involving the satellite firm for providing wifi coverage on more than 500 jets across its airlines, such as Aer Lingus, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.

Seamless Connectivity from Gate through Landing

British Airways explained that this implementation for the system formed part of a multi-billion pound “modernization” program that will provide uninterrupted internet coverage to flyers from boarding through landing, even when they are flying across large bodies of water and remote regions.

Passengers can link numerous gadgets while they will not need a separate access code.

Existing Internet Options

Restricted internet access is currently available to BA travelers across most of their aircraft through its .air platform.

Enrollees in the airline's loyalty club may send communications plus text-based correspondence onboard at no cost, whereas flyers who want to access audio, films, and films on their travel and are not travelling in premium cabins might pay between ÂŁ4.99 to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine per internet package.

Recent Upgrades at the Airline

The airline's management has been focusing to revitalize British Airways back following years of cost cutting, IT problems, industrial action, and mass redundancies.

British Airways explained that use with smart technology contributed to the airline to bring their punctuality to peak performance since over a decade ago.

Profit Outlook

In August, BA disclosed a rise in operating profits during the first half recently, helping to push the parent company profit upward.

International Airlines Group is due to release their earnings covering the quarter from July to September soon.

Other Starlink Agreements

This announcement comes days after mobile phone operator Virgin Media O2 announced it was teaming up with Starlink to boost wireless service across remote areas in Britain, enabling users to automatically connect phones via satellites in the absence of regular mobile signal exists.
